1 Chronicles 28 - Doing What You Don't Know

Updated: Feb 12, 2021

“Now therefore in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of the LORD your God…” 1 Chronicles 28:8

How can you do what you don’t know? How can you complete a task without the knowledge of how to do so? How can you stand resolute in the commandments of God if you are ignorant of them? God tells us here that we must be active in seeking His commandments in order to observe them and subsequently, apply them to our lives. And we do that through daily study and meditation on His commands that are found within the pages of His Holy Word. You cannot attempt to follow the perfect example of Jesus if you don’t know what it looks like. You cannot follow the path God has for you if you don’t seek it out. You cannot claim the wisdom and understanding of God if you don’t glean it from its source. Today, seek the truth that lies within God’s Word. And when you find it, observe it and apply it. Don’t just be a reader of God’s Word, but study it; and then become active in applying all that He reveals to you.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” James 1:22
