2 Chronicles 3 - The Veil is Torn

Updated: Feb 12, 2021

“And he made the veil of blue and purple and crimson fabrics and fine linen, and he worked cherubim on it.” 2 Chronicles 3:14

The temple of God had many parts, the most holy being the room reserved for the very presence of God, the place where the ark of God resided…the Holy of Holies. One man, the high priest, was allowed into the Holy of Holies once a year on the Day of Atonement. In this annual worship he would sprinkle sacrificial blood on the mercy seat of the ark to atone (cover) the sins of the people against Almighty God. And to separate the Holy of Holies from the rest of the world was a veil. It was thick, heavy, and strong in order to be sufficient in protecting the people from the presence of God. And that veil represents the very humanity of Christ. You see, before the work of Jesus upon the cross, we were separated from the presence of God, our sin being a barrier, a boundless chasm that stretched between us and God. But as Jesus took his last breath from that nail pierced human body, a miracle ensued. The veil was torn from top to bottom. Access to God that was barred now became open to all. Jesus made a way to God the Father. Today you don’t need a priest, a preacher, a prophet, or a seer to access God for you. You can approach the very throne of God through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. All that call upon the name of Jesus Christ will be saved from the death of their sin and given eternal life in Heaven. Call upon Jesus today to be your Lord and be ushered into the very presence of God as you take your last Earthly breath. The way has been made…the veil has been torn.

“We have, then, my brothers, complete freedom to go into the Most Holy Place by means of the death of Jesus. He opened for us a new way, a living way, through the veil—that is, through his own body.” Hebrews 10:19-20
