Happy Sunday! I hope to see you all at church this morn! Day 14 5MC..here we go again this morning with Jesus teaching us about the importance & danger of our words...didn't He just tell us about this back in 12:33-37? For Jesus to teach it twice so closely is a huge red flag for us to heed. In 15:16-20 Jesus tells us "it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person." After the disciples ask for Him to explain it He tells them "but what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, this defiles a person." If our words come from our heart we should first & foremost control the source...our heart. Proverbs 4:23 says "above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." Verse 24 goes on to say, "put away from you perverse speech & put devious talk far from you." Our words are a weapon that can do tremendous damage when our hearts are not focused on Jesus & the Word. Protect your hearts & watch your speech my beloved!
