Good morning! Happy Fathers Day & happy day 21 of the FMC! As we move into the arrest of Jesus, God's Word takes us to Gethsemane. Jesus' prayer there continues to amaze & fascinate me. 1st, His prayer life was vigorous throughout the scripture. The Son of God saw the importance to talk to His Heavenly Father consistently. 2nd, His posture. 26:39 says "He fell on His face & prayed". I can't remember the last time I prayed like that. I used to have a friend that called them "foxhole prayers". In war men would dig holes for protection from artillery shells get in them & hope they lived. I can imagine some men fell on their faces in those moments & prayed to God. In moments like that we realize our desperate need for God, but in the day to day grind if there's no artillery headed our way we seem to miss that desperate need to talk to God. I pray we are all in constant communication with our Heavenly Father & not just in the 'foxhole' moments! God bless.
