1 Deliver me from my enemies, O God; be my fortress against those who are attacking me. 2 Deliver me from evildoers and save me from those who are after my blood.
3 See how they lie in wait for me! Fierce men conspire against me for no offense or sin of mine, Lord. 4 I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me. Arise to help me; look on my plight! 5 You, Lord God Almighty, you who are the God of Israel, rouse yourself to punish all the nations; show no mercy to wicked traitors.
6 They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city. 7 See what they spew from their mouths— the words from their lips are sharp as swords, and they think, “Who can hear us?” 8 But you laugh at them, Lord; you scoff at all those nations.
9 You are my strength, I watch for you; you, God, are my fortress, 10 my God on whom I can rely.
God will go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me. 11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield, or my people will forget. In your might uproot them and bring them down. 12 For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. For the curses and lies they utter, 13 consume them in your wrath, consume them till they are no more. Then it will be known to the ends of the earth that God rules over Jacob.
14 They return at evening, snarling like dogs, and prowl about the city. 15 They wander about for food and howl if not satisfied. 16 But I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you; you, God, are my fortress, my God on whom I can rely.

Al director musical. Sígase la tonada de «No destruyas». Mictam de David, cuando Saúl había ordenado que vigilaran la casa de David con el propósito de matarlo.
Líbrame de mis enemigos, oh Dios; protégeme de los que me atacan. 2 Líbrame de los malhechores; sálvame de los asesinos.
3 ¡Mira cómo me acechan! Hombres crueles conspiran contra mí sin que yo, Señor, haya delinquido ni pecado. 4 Presurosos se disponen a atacarme sin que yo haya cometido mal alguno.
¡Levántate y ven en mi ayuda! ¡Mira mi condición! 5 Tú, Señor, eres el Dios Todopoderoso, ¡eres el Dios de Israel! ¡Despiértate y castiga a todas las naciones; no tengas compasión de esos viles traidores! Selah
6 Ellos vuelven por la noche, gruñendo como perros y acechando alrededor de la ciudad. 7 Echan espuma por la boca, lanzan espadas por sus fauces, y dicen: «¿Quién va a oírnos?» 8 Pero tú, Señor, te burlas de ellos; te ríes de todas las naciones. 9 A ti, fortaleza mía, vuelvo los ojos, pues tú, oh Dios, eres mi protector. 10 Tú eres el Dios que me ama, e irás delante de mí para hacerme ver la derrota de mis enemigos. 11 Pero no los mates, para que mi pueblo no lo olvide. Zarandéalos con tu poder; ¡humíllalos! ¡Tú, Señor, eres nuestro escudo! 12 Por los pecados de su boca, por las palabras de sus labios, que caigan en la trampa de su orgullo. Por las maldiciones y mentiras que profieren, 13 consúmelos en tu enojo; ¡consúmelos hasta que dejen de existir! Así todos sabrán que Dios gobierna en Jacob, y hasta los confines de la tierra. Selah
14 Porque ellos vuelven por la noche, gruñendo como perros y acechando alrededor de la ciudad. 15 Van de un lado a otro buscando comida, y aúllan si no quedan satisfechos. 16 Pero yo le cantaré a tu poder, y por la mañana alabaré tu amor; porque tú eres mi protector, mi refugio en momentos de angustia.
17 A ti, fortaleza mía, te cantaré salmos, pues tú, oh Dios, eres mi protector. ¡Tú eres el Dios que me ama!
